Linux Samba Server Setup

Sama Server Setup With example:

You need to install "samba, samba-winbind and samba-common" rpms.

Edit "/etc/samba/smb.conf"

        workgroup = EXAMPLE
        netbios name = localhost
        enable privileges = yes
        encrypt passwords = yes
        smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd
        passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
        username map = /etc/samba/smbusers
[home]
        path = /home
        comment = repertoire de %U, %u
        browseable = yes
        writable = yes
[root]
        path = /
        comment = repertoire de %U, %u
        browseable = yes
        writable = yes

======================================================================

Adding user for samba:

"smbpasswd -a testuser"
Then do a "service smb restart"

You will be able to read and write entire linux filesystem using network share.

You have a small spelling error.

Instead of: "sbmpass -a testuser" ,
it should be: "smbpasswd -a testuser"
